Superlight hi-tech down jacket
The Ripstop fabric, with its characteristic checkered structure, is a lightweight fabric with a nylon fabric that resists tears. In addition to military uses, this fabric, thanks to its strength and toughness, is also commonly used for camping equipment such as tents and outer covers for sleeping bags.
Padding made with high-density, breathable synthetic fibers, capable of offering all the advantages of down (lightness, softness and thermal comfort) in a lighter, breathable and hydroscopic material.
A fabric is water repellent after special treatments to make it resist water: the drops of water do not remain on the fabric, but slip away. Water-repellent fabrics have a certain degree of porosity so they are permeable to air and water vapor. They allow the passage of water when the hydrostatic pressure is high (for example during heavy rain).
Downproof indicates a fabric created to prevent feathers from escaping.
